Global Seeps is the definitive offshore oil slicks database for the worldwide exploration industry, derived using both archive and newly programmed satellite imagery. This data is used widely as a cost effective risk-ranking tool prior to new exploration.

All global seeps study areas are produced to a consistently high standard using a proven methodology and our certified Quality Management System. The Global Seeps database is delivered as a plug & go GIS product and is available on a local, regional or global license. Infoterra can host the dataset making it available to multiple users across an organization using secure web access.
In early 2007 more than 2 million km2 of the Arctic was captured and added to the database. This data includes Greenland, Mackenzie Delta, Chuckchi and Hudson Strait, areas which are opening up to hydrocarbon exploration.
